Walking School Bus

Let’s form an organized group of children and parents/guardians walking a planned route to school. A child and adult begin the route “picking up” the next child and the next and the next (get the idea) with adults volunteering supervision along the way to school. This walking school bus can operate as many days of the week that works for the group.

The program can grow with multiple walking school buses. Children who walk to school arrive energized and often perform better throughout the day. Lessening the number of cars around our schools at drop off and pick up times improve safety and lowers carbon emissions in the air we breathe.
