Vision Zero

The Federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the Safe Streets & Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary grant program. SS4A will provide funding for Hudson County to develop and implement a Vision Zero Safety Action Plan that will help eliminate all motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries by providing safe and equitable mobility for all and improving management of roadways to lessen the severity of crashes.

Hudson County’s Vision Zero Task Force will develop a Safety Action Plan with the following policy and design strategy considerations:

  • Implementing improvements along an expanded multi-modal network.
  • Applying low-cost roadway safety treatments along high-crash corridors.
  • Installing new safety enhancements for pedestrians.
  • Making street design changes informed by education and community outreach.
  • Creating safe routes to school for people living in underserved communities.

We want to hear from you!
