Ways To Pay

1. NJ TRANSIT Mobile App

Download and log into the NJ TRANSIT mobile app where you can plan your trip, purchase and access travel tickets.

2. Printed Tickets

If you prefer to have tickets in hand, you can purchase your travel tickets form the NJ TRANSIT website and print them out.

3. Tap & Ride

You can pay your one-way fare on buses, light rail, and at EWR access fee faregates using a contactless payment card. This new functionality will reduce transaction time and the need for cash or tickets.

Note: This feature is not available when pre-boarding at Port Authority Bus Terminal. Tickets are required to board buses departing from Port Authority Bus Terminal. 

4. Fare-Pay Cards

Get a NJ TRANSIT FARE-PAY card to make your ride faster and easier. Available at all NJ TRANSIT ticket vending machines as well as participating retailers, FARE-PAY cards are accepted on all NJ TRANSIT buses and all three light rail systems — Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, Newark Light Rail, and River LINE.
